Pickboy
Pickboy Guitar Picks. These happen to be the guitar picks that launched this obsessive madness of mine.
'Sadaki' senior started Pickboy in 1967 in Japan. Sadaki's son now runs Pickboy, Japan. Osiamo LLC in New York City is the world-wide representative for Pickboy, Japan. Pickboy, Japan manufactures picks and other accessories, but is not involved in any of its' sales. Thank you, Ches(of Osiamo), for those Pickboy facts.
So. MY story? I believe I purchased two Pickboys that 'first time' at a local musical instrument store. One was a blue Pos-A-Grip meta-carbonate 1.00mm gauge guitar pick. The other? A blue Meta-Carb 1.00mm guitar pick. I remember how they just seemed so 'right' for my guitar, felt good in my hand, and were sturdy and strong. One day, after I'd lost the meta-carb blue, I tore my WHOLE room apart in an attempt to find it. And, sadly, it never turned up. Passing a large musical instrument chain in the area while driving, I decided to make a pit stop. To my surprise, they didn't carry Pickboy brand. I tried 3 other major chains. Same result. Back to the small local music shop.
Imagine my glee when I saw they had gotten a large shipment in! I believe I bought 42.00 worth of Pickboy picks that afternoon. They owner laughed and gave me a free T-Shirt with the store's logo on it. He said he'd never known ANYONE to buy that many picks. But I was hooked. And I wanted at LEAST 4 of each design just in case I lost any. Arriving home and emptying out my little bag of goodies, it was then that I decided I was going to save these beautiful picks instead of use them. This day began my collecting craze. Never before had I purchased a guitar pick with the intention of NOT using it!!

John Mayer 2015 Dead & Company Tour(Thanks Neal!!!):
Pickboy created 2 designs for John Mayer's 'Dead & Company' 2015 Tour. Below are both of those sets. These are extremely difficult to find. The Dead & Company Tour ran only 10 shows in 2015. Who are the Dead & Company? Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, Bob Weir, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.
Fibertex®(Thank you Neal!!!)
Pickboy again thinks outside the box as it creates the Fibertex® guitar pick. This is a material which combines fiberglass & Nylon 6. Nylon 6 has many uses, including its' use in clothing, fishing line and industrial parts. These picks produce a unique 'punchy' tone which I don't find with any other pick material I've used.
***The above 'Monster' series guitar picks were produced in 1989 by Pickboy for the Monster Guitar Show in Japan. These signature picks are part of a 'Monster Guitar Show Collection' that contains 10 other signature picks from various artists. So....2 down-8 to go!!!
