San-X

Founded in April, 1932 and originally named 'Chida Handler', San-X is a Japanese company specializing in the creation, marketing, and production of various anime characters. In 1973, Chida Handler changed their name to 'San-X', which was derived from an earlier logo which was a row of three 'X's. In Japanese, 'san' means three.
In 2003, the popular character Rilakkuma(a brown bear who lives in the house of an office woman) was created.
